The thirty-second version: ZoeCam is an anonymous video chat by design β you can talk under a nickname and share only what you choose. Your video is never recorded, chat logs are not kept, and your personal data is never sold.
1. Our Privacy Promise
This policy explains what information ZoeCam collects when you use the site, what we do with it, who ever sees it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits ZoeCam, whether you chat as a guest or hold an account.
Privacy on ZoeCam starts with the product itself: our anonymous video chat is built so you can meet people without handing over your identity. By using ZoeCam you acknowledge the practices described here β if any of them do not work for you, please stop using the service.
2. What We Collect
We keep collection minimal. What we do gather falls into three groups:
Information you give us
- Account details β if you create an account, the basics needed to run it, such as a nickname, login credentials, and any optional profile details you choose to add.
- Messages to us β support requests and feedback you send, so we can answer them.
- Purchase details β if you buy coins, the billing and transaction information needed to complete the order. Payments are processed by third-party providers; we never store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Device and connection data β device and browser type, operating system, and identifiers needed to establish a video call.
- Usage data β which pages you visit, which features you use, and roughly when, so we can keep the service fast and fix what breaks.
- Approximate location β derived from your IP address, used for things like matching and regional compliance. Nothing more precise without your consent.
Information from third parties
- If you sign in through a third-party service, we receive the basic profile details that service shares with us.
- Analytics partners may provide aggregated, anonymised statistics about how the site is used.
3. Camera and Microphone Permissions
ZoeCam is a video chat, so your browser will ask for camera and microphone access before a match can start. That permission stays under your control: your browser shows when the camera is live, and you can revoke access at any time in your browser settings β matches simply will not connect without it.
Your video and audio are streamed live to the person you are matched with, and that is the whole journey. ZoeCam does not record your video, does not store chat footage, and does not keep call logs of what was said. The person on the other side could still capture their own screen β no platform can prevent that β so share only what you are comfortable sharing. Our Safety page covers the habits that keep anonymous chats comfortable.
4. How We Use the Information
- Running the service β matching you with a person, keeping calls stable, and processing purchases you make.
- Keeping the community kind β detecting fraud, abuse, and violations of our rules, and acting on reports.
- Improving ZoeCam β understanding which features people love and where things break, in aggregate.
- Talking to you β answering support requests and sending service-related notices (never spam).
- Meeting legal obligations β where the law requires us to keep or disclose specific records.
7. How Long We Keep It
We keep personal information only for as long as it serves the purposes above: account data for as long as your account is active, and support or transaction records for the period the law and dispute-handling require.
When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where a longer retention is legally required or needed for fraud prevention. Live video and chat content are never retained in the first place.
8. How We Protect It
ZoeCam uses industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls on our systems, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we also encourage the simple habits on your side: a strong, unique password, and care about what you share on camera.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected
- Ask for your personal data to be deleted, subject to legal exceptions
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your data
- Opt out of non-essential communications at any time
To exercise any of these, write to support[at]zoecam.com (retype the [at] as a normal @). We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in line with the law that applies to you.
10. Children's Privacy
ZoeCam is a service for adults and is not intended for anyone under 18, or under the minimum age set by local law where that is higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below that age.
If we learn that an underage person's information has reached us, we delete it as promptly as we can. If you believe that has happened, please tell us at support[at]zoecam.com.
11. When This Policy Changes
We update this policy when our practices, the product, or the law change. When an update matters, we revise the date at the top of this page and give notice through the site or other appropriate channels. Continuing to use ZoeCam after an update takes effect means you accept the revised policy, so it is worth a glance now and then.
12. Questions? We Are Listening
Anything about this policy or your data goes to support[at]zoecam.com β retype the [at] as a normal @; it is written that way to keep harvesting bots off the address. You can also reach the team through the contact page.
